For the people that don’t know what push ups are, take a look at this picture (click on the picture). There are 3 steps to perform a nice push up.
1. You get in the position where you stretch your arms and your body. Your hands should be flat on the floor and about 1 meter from each other.
2. You slowly move towards the floor by bending your elbows. Keep on going down till your nose almost hits the floor.
3. Push yourself up till you’re in the first position again. Now rinse and repeat.
As you can see there are only 3 steps to perform a push up. It looks quite simple doesn’t it? If you never did a push up, try to do 5 push ups and see how “easy” it is. Be careful, if you are new to push ups, don’t do too many on your first go. Let me repeat that. Do not do too many at your first go, because if you do, you’ll overload your muscles and you’ll be have myalgia (pain in the muscles) the next day.
If you are one of the few people that just did 5 push ups, and think it’s way too easy to do push ups, stay tuned, because in part 2 I’ll be talking about the differences in push ups. Because there is much more to push up then just doing the 3 steps I just mentioned.

Five isn’t bad, ten to fifteen is where it really gets rough, especially because I haven’t been exercising as regularly.

If you exercise once a while then doing 15 push ups once shouldn’t be a problem for you, it’s the repeated sessions where it’s get intensive.
