A muscular backAs I was reading through some of my favorite blogs, I came across a topic which caught my attention. And that was weight loss through weight lifting exercises. In a previous post I wrote on this blog I mentioned the benefits of weight training exercises and burning calories was one of the 10 benefits. You can click the link to see the other  9 benefits.

The blog post that caught my attention was written by Rob on his blog called FormerFatGuy. For me, the most important point of that post is tip #1. This is especially important for me and many other people because I’m in the stage where I have to lose fat and build up some muscle at the same time. And by training the 3 largest muscles groups in your body will do just that. The 3 largest muscle groups are: Your legs, chest and your back.

The idea behind training the 3 largest muscle groups in your body, in order to lose weight, is simple. The larger your muscles are, the more energy it will take to train the muscle and repair the muscle tissue. And as mentioned in my metabolism post, the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism will be. So by training the 3 largest muscle groups in your body, you’ll burn energy twice, or is it 3 times? Anyway, if you’re looking to burn some fat and build muscle at the same time, this is the solution for you.

    It seems like working the larger groups is just a universal thing to do. If you’re looking to lose weight or bulk up that’s what you focus on.
