The blog has been going for 2 months and 15 days now and it had it’s up and downs (already), but today is a day for a big fat up, because today Sports & Cooking has, for the first time, had over a 1000 page views. Once again this spike in page views is generated by a simple thumbs up from StumbleUpon. I’d like to thank everyone who gave this blog a thumbs up. (more…)
Not so long ago I did a little push ups series. It was a 4 part series, you can find them here:
Are you a person who goes to a fast food restaurant and orders a salad thinking it contains fewer calories than the burgers they sell? If you are the person I just described, I got some bad news for you my friend. For a while now, salads in fast food restaurants are getting a bad name and I’d like explain to you why these salads deserve the bad name!
With the rapid popularity growth of the energy drinks, there is almost no escaping them. Nowadays you can see them everywhere. In supermarkets, fuel stations, your local grocery store on the corner of the block, just everywhere. It’s said that these energy drinks energizes you and give you a short concentration boost. While this may be true, there are also downsides to energy drinks.
Raw food diets have been around for centuries and with the recent attention it’s getting from celebrities such as Demi Moore, Bryan Adams, Woody Harrelson, Uma Thurman, Natalie Portman and so on, it has gotten quite popular these days. The raw food diet is, if performed properly, a diet which can lead to weight loss and a healthier body. But be careful, every coin has two sides.
Everyone knows diets can be expensive. This is because healthy food is usually more expensive than unhealthy food. This doesn’t really make sense, but hey, we can’t do anything about it, can we? Well, we can in one way or another. Instead of buying the more expensive healthy food, we could look for alternatives. And 1 of those alternatives is legumes.
21% of your daily calorie intake comes from drinks (1). This could be sodas, fruit juices, tea, coffee and so on. For a female this would mean about 400 calories and for a male about 500 calories. Now imagine you’re only drinking water throughout the day, this would mean you taking in 400 (500) calories less daily. If you care about your waistline, don’t only look at what you’re eating, take a look at what you’re drinking as well.
It’s time for the 4th post in the “MrX said” post series. In this series I will write a post which’s basis is a comment from a reader. In return for the great comment I’ll link back to the blog of the reader who left the comment, which one day will hopefully help him or her out. And that’s what the “MrX said” series is about, making some of the readers famous.
Everyone knows we live in a fast paced world today and there is little time left to exercise regularly. Even though you’re in a hurry, there is still time left for you do some exercises. You might not know about the possibilities, but they are there and you just have to see them. To help you see them I’ll list a few tips that can help you exercise regularly.
“I’m going to the gym regularly, but I’m gaining weight. Am I doing something wrong?” That’s a question I hear regularly and you could be asking the same question right now. It surprises me how little some people know about the human body. If you are determined to lose weight or fat, at least do a bit of research so you know what’s ahead of you in the weeks or months to come.
