Just recently I’ve been tagged by Nico from Prohealthblog and I’ve been asked to write a memoir with a maximum of 6 words. So, time to play along. I’ve read some of the other blogs which have been tagged and I got to say, it’s hard to follow up on most them, especially Israel’s “Be about it” from Fat Man Unleashed, but I’m going to give it a try anyway.
My memoir: “Give and thou shall receive”
Give and thou shall receive. This has been something I’ve come across my entire life. Let’s start back in the days when I used to play football (soccer for you Americans) and I was the captain of the team. Every training, every match, every activity you had with the team, you had to give them everything. Advice, both mental and physical support, dedication and so on. You had to put your team members in your #1 spot so that they improved. Now you’re wondering, what did you receive?
What I received was satisfaction. The idea that you’re helping out other people become better at what they do just because of you. The idea that they are thankful because I’ve helped them achieve something they otherwise wouldn’t if it wasn’t for me.
Fast-forward to 10 years later. I’ve started blogging about a month or 2 ago. I’ve been doing my research for my posts, have met some nice bloggers in the process. Not as much as I would like to meet, but still, it’s a begin. For the past month or 2 I’ve tried to post a blog post every day. Things have been going slow, but that’s to be expected. But, just yesterday I came across a post that I liked and got my attention because the post described exactly what I was going through. So I decided to mention the article in a post I wrote, linked to the article and told people to read the complete article on the owners blog. I bet you’re wondering again, what did you receive?
Just like 10 years ago, I received satisfaction. The fact that I (try to) help people out by doing research for them and myself and present it in a easy to read manner. If the information is provided on another blog, so be it, I’ll just link to that other blog, and help both the blog owner and the readers from my blog out.
And on a less serious note. If you go to the gym, and give all you have. You will indeed receive something back… and that is a lot of pain in the muscles. As I write this post, I’m hurting all over. Back to being more serious.
So there you go, there is my memoir: Give and thou shall receive. To make a campfire from the torch, I’ll try to involve some big bloggers.
Bloggers I’ll be tagging are:
Darren Rowse from ProBlogger
Daniel Scocco from DailyBlogTips
Maki from DoshDosh
Brain Clark from Copyblogger
Jennifer Laycock from Search Engine Guide
The rules for the tagging are quite simple:
- Write your own six word (max) memoir.
- Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you want.
- Link to the person who tagged you in your post.
- Tag at least five more blogs.
- Leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.
Hope to see some of the big bloggers participate in this memoir event!

I love the idea of giving and receiving, and like you, I find wealth in both sides………………:)
