3 Plans To Help One Lose Weight In A Week

General

Extra pounds are something that entirely too many of us carry around. There are many different reasons, some genetic, others environmental. The fact is that sometimes we feel a need to lose weight quickly. In this article, we will take a look at three different plans that can lead to significant progress as one tries to lose weight in a week.

Over 75 percent of our body is comprised of water. This means that our body requires large amounts of water to sustain its self. Millions of years of evolution have caused our bodies to retain water against future need. Most of us carry around 5 to 8 pounds of excess weight in the form of water. We can lose this entire amount within a week by simply consuming more water. If a person consumes as much as a gallon of water each day, his/her body will be signaled that there is no need to retain water and the excess will be eliminated from the body.

The second plan to lose weight in a week is to change the diet to one that is completely comprised of fruits and vegetables. Green salads can consist of large amounts of food with very few calories. In addition to the number of calories being greatly reduced, the amount of fiber will be greatly increased. This will serve to clean the bowel and eliminate a large volume of excess waste that most of us carry around inside us because we do not eat right.

The third plan involves elements of both of the previous two alternatives. Increasing water and vegetable intake can aid in rapid weight loss as outlined. In addition, keeping the body healthy requires consumption of moderate amounts of meat, poultry, and fish for protein and grains for carbohydrates. The carbohydrates are needed to supply fuel for the body to burn while the reduction in caloric intake will result in loss of weight.

This third plan may prove slightly slower than other weight loss options, but it does include a more balanced approach to changing the diet that makes it possible to continue to receive the needed nutrients to keep the body going while reducing the number of calories one consumes to a level that is lower than the number of calories burned each day.

A good average weight loss for a single week is between 8 and 20 pounds following the balanced plan. This assumes, of course, that the body has that much extra weight to lose. As most of us do, this is a very realistic weight loss goal.
