Breakfast

Breakfast with melonsLook no futher. Just like everyone else, I too need a healthy breakfast. There are some days when I wake up and wonder what I’m gonna have for breakfast. Usually I go for a bowl of high fiber cereal when I don’t know what I’m gonna have for breakfast, but after days and weeks of eating only cereals in the morning, it got a bit…monotone.

So I decided to make a little list of possible healthy breakfasts I and you could have in the morning.

What you could have for breakfast, instead of my daily bowl of cereal, are the following:

Scrambled eggs

Yes, eggs. There are a couple of things you could do with your eggs in the morning. You can scramble the eggs with peppers. If you like some color while eating, add some green, red, yellow or black pepper to the scrambled eggs. If you want to make this breakfast even healtier, you can chose not to scramble the whole egg, but use only the egg-white instead. The egg-white is the juicy part.

Hard boiled eggs

Besides scrambling your eggs. You could also hard boil them. If you like your hard boiled eggs hot, you could wake up couple minutes earlier and boil them in the morning. If it doesn’t matter to you, wheter they are hot or cold, there is another option. And that’s boiling your eggs the night before. Doing this will also give you couple extra minutes in the morning which you need so badly.

Fruit salad

Any kind, shape, way or form. Preferbly, mix them in a salad, so you get the best of all the fruits. Some of the fruits you could use are; apples, bananas, peers, oranges and so on. Just pick the ones you like most and mix them in a salad. If it doesn’t taste great the first time, try to mix different kind of fruit the next time.

Fruit shake

You can also make a shake from the fruit mentioned above. Instead of just mixing them together, you could throw the fruit cup/bowl and add some yogurt or low-fat milk to it. And make a shake out of that. As always, this is a process of trial and error. Just do it often, so you get the taste you want. Another good thing about the shake. You can put it in a glass with a lid, and drink it while you’re heading to work or school.

High fiber cereals

And now that I think about it. My daily bowl of high fiber cereal will do fine on some days. But try not to eat it daily, because you will get fed up of eating cereal only. Use low-fat or soy milk to mix the cereal with, and there you go, a nice, quick and most important of all, healthy breakfast.

On the go products

If you are really lazy, or just can’t be bothered with waking up every morning to make your breakfast. There are products in the supermarkets which you could eat/drink instead of having breakfast at home. Some of the products replace your entire breakfast, while others do this partially. So if you decided to use some of these products, read carefully what’s in it, so you don’t get too few fibers, calories and what not.

I have a very high triglyceride level and need to start eating healthy breakfast now :(

I usually eat cereals or oatmeals, alternately. When I got bored, I switched to a different cereal heh heh

    Thanks for the tips

Glad you liked the tips Michael. And you did exactly what I did. I just bought me a bunch of different cereals and off I go
